The Melt Method is a practice you can do at home to get rid of chronic pain.

In her “quest to live an active, pain-free life,” Hitzmann became educated on the emerging science of connective tissue, or fascia, which surrounds your muscles, bones, nerves and organs. (The researchers she met were discovering that connective tissue was responsive, adaptable and renewable.) Through her education, Hitzmann developed the MELT Method that uses props like a soft roller (similar to the foam rollers you see at the gym, only not as hard) and rubber balls to relieve tension in the body; sort of like giving yourself a massage. The goal is to stimulate nerve endings and softly manipulate tissues with light pressure, rather than pressing down hard.
The MELT Method incorporates a variety of direct and indirect patent-pending techniques including the “Balance Test” where by standing up tall, eyes closed, without adjusting, lifting all 10 toes off the ground for about 10 seconds, you can notice if your body drifts or slumps forward. If it does, your nervous system is having a hard time identifying where the centerline of your body is, likely because your spine is compressed, says Hitzmann. How do you fix this? Take a MELT method squishy ball and rub it lightly across the bottom of each foot for 20 seconds. The stimulation wakes up nerve endings and helps your feet connect more deeply to the ground, centering you and helping your spine maintain a more natural straight line.
