Use these five goals for assessing the effectiveness of your personal pain plan.

How do you know how well a pain plan is working? Like the plan itself, it’s very individual. And since most chronic pain never fully goes away, few plans ever reach perfection.

  • Decrease in pain
  • Improvement in mood and day-to-day functioning, well-being, and quality of life
  • Minimal side effects from treatment
  • Staying out of the hospital
  • Ability to return or continue to work
