It’s Your Time, Mom!
Help mom celebrate and take care of her health by connecting her to National Women’s Health Week, a weeklong health observance that kicks off on Mother’s Day and runs through May 18.
It’s a great gift to help empower women (and especially your Mom) to make their health a priority and encourages them to take the following five steps to improve their physical and mental health and lower their risk for certain diseases:
- Visit a health care professional for regular checkups and preventative screenings.
- Get active.
- Eat healthy.
- Pay attention to mental health, including getting enough sleep and managing stress.
- Avoid unhealthy behaviors, such as smoking, not wearing a seat belt or bicycle helmet, or texting while driving.
Coordinated by the Department of Health and Human Services’ Office on Women’s Health, the event brings together communities, businesses, government, health organizations, and other groups in an effort to promote women’s health and its importance.
